Low Back Pain

Low Back - the lower part of the spine....

The spine is made up of 24 moving bones called vertebrae. The top 7 vertebrae belong to the cervial spine (the neck), the next 12 to the thoracic spine (mid-back) and the bottom 5 segments make up the low back. 80% of people will experience low back pain at some point in their lives. This is where chiropractor can be helpful as they specialize in treatment and prevention of spinal related discomforts. The low back is a very common area of back pain.

Back pain - Acute or Chronic Defined:

Back pain can come in acute (new, traumatic) or chronic (consistent, on and off again, repetitive) formats. Both types are equally annoying, though the treatment approach differs accordingly.

Dr. Michael Horowitz always recommends ICE application for acute injuries (back pain) and either HEAT or contract (ICE/HEAT) for chronic conditions. Finding the source of acute or chronic back pain is always the focus of our office. Wheather the pain is coming from the muscles, ligaments, spine or the feet - our office aims for RESULTS!!
