DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPY
in Vancouver

WHAT IS DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) using firm pressure and slow strokes. It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. After treatment it is not uncommon to experience soreness or even bruising.

DOES DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE HURT
At certain points throughout the massage, you may experience some discomfort or even a little pain as the massage therapist works on areas where there are adhesions or scar tissue.

Please communicate to your massage therapist if you feel pain during the massage. The therapist can adjust the technique or further prepare the tissues if the superficial muscles are tense. Deep tissue massage is not meant to be painful.
